Though the surface of your newly purchased thermostat switch seems smooth, it’s not. Same goes for that pipe or housing that you’re attaching it to. Zoom in about 100x and the steel looks more like rock. Air, of course, conducts heat; but not very well. Thermal paste, however, is formulated to do just that. So by ‘filling in the cracks’ with thermal paste you greatly increase the efficiency of heat transfer, and along with it your shiny new thermostat switch.
Senasys’s 3 mL Thermal Paste is a practical solution for efficient heat transfer in a variety of applications. Each tube provides coverage for 5-7 switches, ensuring a cost-effective thermal management solution. Functioning as a thermal interface material, this paste, also referred to as “grease,” plays a crucial role by filling microscopic imperfections in metal surfaces, facilitating enhanced heat transfer between the switch and its contact surface. Application is straightforward – simply smear an appropriate amount of paste on the sensing head of the thermostat switch before bolting or clamping down. It is important to note that this thermal paste is not intended for use as an adhesive.
