Senasys 2570 Series Thermostat is a unique patented thermostat package specifically design to be a high performance, low-cost thermostat suitable for extreme environmental conditions (-20°F up to 220°F).

The 2570 Series Epoxy Sealed Thermostat is manufactured with a high temperature ceramic insulated base encased in a protective nylon boot. Devices are sealed, have a comparative tracking index of +600 per UL 746A and IEC 112; water absorption of 0% and exceptional heat resistance.

Senasys 2570 Series Sealed Thermostats feature a patented metal sleeve rivet construction listed by many European approval agencies with 4mm over surface clearance current carrying parts to ground.

The 3/4″ thermal element of the device with its fast response and sensitivity characteristics is processed to maintain close tolerances and narrow differential performance for extended life.

Senasys 2570 Sealed Thermostats meet the latest revision of the MIL-STD-202 specification for humidity, moisture resistance, salt spray, freeze and thaw, and shock and vibration.

Devices are available with standard PVC leads and can be custom-designed to meet individual customer requirements.

To ensure that a safe combination of thermostat and application is achieved, the purchaser must determine product suitability for their individual requirements.

Mounting Options

With snap discs, different applications will require a different snap disc mounting style. Temperature switches can be installed in a variety of environments, and the right mounting bracket is needed to make sure that the switch is able to perform accurately. Even if a switch functions at the right temperature, the wrong bracket can cause it switch at the wrong time or even not switch at all. See a variety of available mounting options below, or click here to learn more.

If you need a style that isn’t shown here, contact us! We offer custom bracket options as well.

Standard Temperature Options

Below are our standard temperature ranges, tolerances and differentials for our 2570 Series. Although we can provide tighter tolerances and differentials, along with special testing to meet application requirements. Please consult factory for more information. The “differential” is the number of degrees between the nominal open and nominal close. For example: A thermostat calibrated to open at 170°F ± 9°F has a 40°F temperature differential.

Frequently Asked Questions

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

What is a bi-metal snap disc?

Our snap disc thermostats are created with bimetal discs in them that react to temperature changes (rise or fall) and ‘snap’ causing the circuit to open or close. We form our discs from one of three bimetal compositions. Click here to learn more.

What custom temperatures are available?

For small quantities, we can build anything from -20°F to 220°F. Contact us for higher temperatures.

What is the DC voltage rating on the 2570 series?

Our epoxy sealed thermostat switches are UL rated for 100,000 cycles 15 Amps at 120VAC / 10 Amps at 240VAC, and 0.5 Amps at 24VDC. We did some additional testing in house. Check out our results  here!

What are the options for the wire leads?

Our standard wire leads are black, 18 AWG at 12″ or 72″ length. We recommend the 72″ length, and then cutting down to what you need. We have other options available including color, lengths and gauge sizes.  Click here  to learn more.

What is the durability of the epoxy sealed thermostats under water?

Senasys manufacturers two different lines of sealed thermal switches,  431 series and 2570 series, which are  UL873 approved to be hermetically sealed. Our sealed snap disc thermal switches are commonly found in environments where condensation, dust or other material may be present.

Senasys performed a series of tests with our sealed thermostat switches by submerging them into fresh water and salt water.  Click here  to see the results!

What is the durability of the epoxy sealed thermostats under water?

Our complete switches aren’t rated for UL94, or any other particular flammability rating for that matter, individual components are. We did some testing in-house as well. Check out the results  here!

How are snap disc thermostats tested?

Senasys tests our snap disc thermostats through air, fluid, hot plate and other testing standards. Learn more about our quality inspection here.

My thermostat isn’t operating. What should I test first?

Continuity! Whether you have a hot or cold temperature thermostat, this test is easy and one of the first things we ask customers. Learn how to do so here.

What is the differential of a snap disc thermostat?

For these types of switches 10ºF is about the smallest range they can maintain cost effectively and consistently.

For complex systems actual testing is usually pretty important. We support this process by making it easy to test multiple package styles and disc temps in sequence or all at once just give us a call. Learn more about temperature differentials here.

What is the temperature tolerance of my snap disc thermostat?

Our standard tolerance is between 5°F to 10°F, but tighter tolerance options are available. We also offer a min/max type. Click here to learn more, or contact us with your requirements.

Where should I locate my thermostat when installing into my equipment?

The location of the temperature switch inside your heating element should be well thought through. Temperature will change in various locations within the system depending on the heating element location. The further you distance from the heating element, the lower the temperature. Where a temperature switch is located will determine how accurate it can measure and control the system. Senasys typically recommends with all of our temperature switches the closer you can get to the heating element the better for the most accurate reading and fastest response time.

What IP rating does my snap disc thermostat have?

The 2570 series has an IP68 rating. To learn more about IP ratings, click here!
