I ordered 1he 100-L-227 with a range of 110 degrees open and 100 degrees close. My actual temperature is 111.8 degrees. This unit never opens, so I assume that I am in the deadband, which makes it totally useless for me.

  Temperature switches have a tolerance on both the opening and closing temperatures. In the case of your switch, there is a 5°F tolerance, so the opening temperature will be between 105°F and 115°F. If you need something with a tighter tolerance then I would recommend taking a look at our digital switch. Hope that helps!
